The Oprah Factor

Oprah has officially endorsed Barack Obama; the first time, she says, that she has ever endorsed a candidate publically. This could definitely be the momentum he needs to move ahead of Hillary in the polls. This will be a very interesting development to watch. Here's a picture of Barack at the local rally we attended.

You got to meet him, correct? what were your thoughts on him?

I really like him. I think he's extremely intelligent, down-to-earth and has a lot of integrity. I really think that his political ambitions are based on making the country a better place. I also love that after Harvard Law, he went back to Chicago to work on voter registration programs for inner city blacks instead of taking the big-money corporate law route. He's definitely optimistic and idealistic, but is that so bad??

The thing I hate about most politicians is that I never feel like you see who they truly are. They are so busy molding a "public persona" that they come across as fake and insincere. Did you feel like he was down to earth and genuine?

I think he's very true to his beliefs. He is not at all a hokey-Bill Clinton kind of politician.
